The Macallan Edition No. 6 is the sixth and final release in The Macallan’s celebrated limited annual Edition Series.
• Theme and Inspiration: The whisky is a homage to the natural wonders of The Macallan Estate, focusing specifically on the legendary River Spey that runs through the property. The theme celebrates the unique landscape, the Ghillie who is the custodian of their stretch of the river, and the importance of the Atlantic salmon conservation.
• Collaboration: Macallan collaborated with the renowned fishing brand Hardy and the Atlantic Salmon Trust to highlight the conservation efforts for the Atlantic salmon, which is iconic to the Spey River. The packaging features a distinctive teal/blue-green color, evoking the river’s waters.
• Cask Selection: This expression was created by The Macallan Whisky Maker Steven Bremner using five distinct cask styles, all of which are sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks (including hogsheads and butts). The selection was made to embody the unique stories and environment of the River Spey.
