The Macallan Edition No. 4 is a limited edition single malt that pays direct homage to the opening of Macallan’s magnificent new distillery in 2018, celebrating the brand’s mastery of wood and spirit. Unlike Editions 2 and 3, this expression features no outside collaborator, with then-Master Distiller Nick Savage focusing on showcasing the structure and “weighty style” of the Macallan spirit. It was crafted using a complex combination of seven different cask types, including first-fill sherry-seasoned European and American oak from specific cooperages like Tevasa and Vasyma, alongside refill butts and hogsheads. Bottled at 48.4% ABV, this Speyside Scotch offers a bold and invigorating profile, delivering prominent notes of rich nutmeg, wood spices (ginger, clove), rounded honey, sweet toffee, and vibrant citrus fruits on a long, warm, and lasting finish. Its strong character and commemorative significance have made it a highly collectible bottle, maintaining significant value on the secondary market.
