A Jewel in the Rough
Released in late 2024, this is the very latest “Masterpiece” collaboration from Hennessy. The Maison partnered with Jean-Michel Othoniel, a French contemporary artist famous for his sculptures made of glass beads.
Othoniel approached the Hennessy X.O bottle as if it were a raw jewel. The shell is a faceted, gold-bronze structure that encases the bottle, designed to resemble a precious stone cut by light. The texture also pays homage to the rough, woody texture of oak barrels.
Collector’s Note: This is distinct from the “Kim Jones” (Aluminum) and “Frank Gehry” (Crinkled Gold) editions. It is the most recent in the lineage of artist collaborations.
