The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Year Old 1997 Vintage (bottled around 2015) is a highly-regarded vintage bottling from the Sherry Oak line, distinguished as one of the very last releases to feature a distillation year on the label before the switch to “Release Year” labeling. Matured exclusively in sherry seasoned oak casks for 18 years, it maintains the classic Macallan profile. The nose offers soft, plump raisins, candied peels, and ginger snaps dusted with cinnamon. The palate is characterized by stewed apples, clove, and orange peel, with the oak developing throughout. The finish is long and satisfying, with lasting notes of toffee and a final hint of oak.
